This procedure is considered temporary whitening due to the habitual consumption of coffee, tea, wine, tobacco products, blueberries, blackberries and pomegranate juice. Additional teeth whitening procedures might be necessary.
• Replace small silver fillings with white fillings and larger silver fillings with porcelain inlays and onlays. The white filling procedure is completed in one office visit, and the end result leaves teeth looking like they are cavity-free. However, porcelain inlays and onlays are superior to white fillings and require two visits.
• Gap teeth. Close a gap in between two teeth, repair a minor chip, or fix cracked or stained teeth with dental bonding. Minor dental bonding usually can be completed in about an hour.

Other steps you can take to keep your smile whiter heading into the holidays and all year long are:

• Avoid foods and drinks such as coffee, dark syrup soft drinks, red wine and blueberries. These items stain teeth.

• Eat foods that naturally whiten or maintain white teeth, such as strawberries, which have natural bleaching action, and apples, cauliflower and celery, which help naturally clean teeth and remove bacteria.
